Are You Saying God Does Not Know What He Is Doing?

I just had an overwhelming thought and revelation!  As I am reading Exodus, I realized that Moses fled to the desert for 40 years.  In those 40 years God prepared Moses for the calling He had on his life to deliver the Israelites from Egyptian bondage and slavery.  God's audible calling to Moses was at the burning bush.

Here is my overwhelming thought and revelation.  I was born in 1969 it was 2009 one month before my birthday that God began to call me into ministry during a youth mission trip.  The theme for that week was centered around Mosses and the burning bush.  It was almost exactly 40 years of my  life when God called me into ministry audibly.  I can look back and see how He prepared me over those years to do what He has called me to do today.

He has called me to lead people out of the bondage and slavery to sin, addictions, oppression, depression, fear, bullying, hopelessness, and everything else that holds one captive and isolated from Christ Jesus His son.

My story is unique to me.  God did not call me to serve and minister like someone else.  He made me to serve and minister just the way He made me.  He took 40 years to do something special.  As a youth pastor, I am always looking at others for ideas, ways and techniques to reach the lost.  While in my mind I think that I am not good enough.  How foolish of me.  Never once did I hear God say, now go follow so and so an do as he or she does so you can fulfill my calling in your life.

After Moses posed every excuse he could God said this "Now go."  God has created and prepared each and everyone of us to His unique standard.  When we are full of doubt and excuses, we are saying "God, you do not know what you are doing."  Honestly, if God says "Go" you have no excuse, just do it.

I am so excited to see what God has planned for me this year.  My new year resolution is this: to surrender my all,  be what God has made me to be, and go where ever He says to go. How about you?

Exodus 4:11-12

he LORD said to him, "Who gave man his

mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight

or makes him blind? Is it not I, the LORD?12 Now go; I will

help you speak and will teach you what to say."

May my life be the proof and evidence of His love!

  1. I see some similarities to my own life in your post. I was 40 when I prayed. I prayed that He would allow me to work with hospice/cancer pt's in April, 2005. Then I forgot all about telling God I wanted to serve Him, I was well, I was back focused on me and what I wanted. I am thankful I wrote in down because I had forgotten my earnest prayers. In November 2005, my husband suggested one evening that I needed to get a job! I was furious and dug in my heals and applied for only 2 positions, both from my computer at home, I also applied for only part-time work because I was so angry at my husband, after all I had given in raising our children! I was called in for the job, when I was interviewed and asked if I was a team player, I said,"I don't know, I never played sports!" I was hired anyway. I did not want a job, I thought it was housekeeping at the hospital....it was not, it was housekeeping at the new Hospice House. I wasn't sure what Hospice meant, but associated it with people dying with cancer...7 years later, I see how God answered my pleas even though I was still so stubborn and self centered. He answered my prayers, even though I had forgotten them. He Blessed me even though I deserved it least and gave my heart purpose, He is still blessing me with goodness I never knew existed. Thanks for this post, reminds me I do not have a job, I have a purpose God has called me to!
