How different?

How different would your day be if you consciously walked in and acknowledged the presence of the LORD?

Proverbs 3:6 in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.

Exalted?

Is your life in Christ evidenced by the the exalting of Christ?  Is your identity, character, habits, attributes, behaviors, attitudes, language,  motivations, literally everything about you formulated by Christ first?  That is my desire for me.

Philippians 1:20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.

Love the sinner, not the sin

To condone what the holy bible describes and sinful behavior, in the name of God's love, has got to be the most hypocritical thing a christian can do.   True love for God must be grounded in obedience to His commands.  Condoning sinful behaviors, actions, and lifestyles is never in obedience to The Lord.  love the sinner, not the sin.

2 John 1:5-6 And now, dear lady, I am not writing you a new command but one we have had from the beginning. I ask that we love one another.  6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.

get it right

Have you ever had someone define your character and identity only to get it totally wrong?  Of course you have.  I'm sure for numerous reasons people misjudged you.

We live in a world inundated with countless religions and even bizarre beliefs.  Many have accepted the historical accounts of Jesus.  Many have misjudged who He really is.  Some proclaim he was merely a great prophet, some a liar, some even a lunatic.  There are also many who deny he ever existed.

Go back to my first thoughts.  Who knows who your really are the most accurately? You do right? And probably those close to you that spend every day life with you.

If you want to get Jesus right, go straight to the source.  His word, God's untainted unadulterated word, the Holy bible established by God, Jesus Christ, and those who did life by His side and in his presence.

Don't ever let misrepresentation, "new" revelation, or even false proclamation define who Jesus Christ really is.

1 John 4:1-6  Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.2 This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,3 but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.4 You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.5 They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them.6 We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

Health fanatic, physical and spiritual!

I have to admit, I am a health fanatic.  For years I have enjoyed good nutrition and exercise.  My motivations have been to maintain a better health for the LORD, and for my family.  The bible teaches that my body is a temple, I believe I should treat it as such.  I also want to make sure I don't hinder my health and place a premature burden upon my family.

Health and fitness is a trillion dollar industry and it is rapidly on the rise.  People desire better health and fitness like no other time.  Why?  Well sadly many are motivated by looks.  They desire the magazine photo beach body that others will find attractive and desire.

In this pursuit for the perfect beach body, people strictly discipline themselves in good diet and exercise.  It becomes a daily addictive routine.  The better the results the more dedicated they become.

Physical fitness becomes a top priority in many lives.  It literally can become an addiction, taking precedence over most other things in life.  But how long will it last?   When will you get sick or injured and no longer be able to maintain this routine?  What have you really gained by making health and fitness a top priority?

Our physical health and outward beauty is only temporary at best.  Should we take care of ourselves physically?  Absolutely, our bodies are called a temple for the Holy Spirit.  I am convinced our spiritual health and fitness should be top priority.

What kind of christian would you be if you spiritual health was an addiction.   How different would you appear if your spiritual diet and exercise was as disciplined and driven by a trillion dollar industry as physical health is?

My commitment and discipline to my spiritual health has become priceless to me, making a trillion dollar industry seem like pennies.  My physical health will fade no matter what.  My spiritual health will last an eternity.

1 Timothy 4:8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Shipwrecked faith

Shipwrecked faith:

In 1 Timothy chapter 1 Paul instructs timothy to command certain men not to teach false doctrines.  He concludes this chapter how some have shipwrecked their faith.

I often hear various denominations arguing over church doctrines, claiming "we are right, you are wrong."  Recently in a youth mission trip our youth played a game called underground church.  The scenario was they were in a country that forbid Christianity.  The object was to find the church and not get captured or fall into a false church.

The biggest stumbling block was the false church.  The scripture reference that the false church used was; John 1:1 In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. And the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God.  In the Holy bible john 1:1 reads this way; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Did you notice the huge difference?  The first claims the son was of God. The holy bible declares the word (son) is God.    Many of the youth fell for the false doctrine simply because it sounded right.

Just because something sounds good, feels good, or even appears good, it doesn't mean it is good.  I challenge you to always verify what you are being taught, preached, and proclaimed directly with the Holy word of God.  Otherwise your faith may have no salvation and simply be a shipwreck waiting to happen.

1 Timothy 1:18-19 Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight,19 holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith.

Clothed with Christ

When I was little, I loved to pretend.  One of my favorites was superman!  I just thought it was so cool that he could fly.  When I wanted to be superman, I put on my cape, well a beach towel.  Then I was ready to fly!

Being superman meant I had to put on my costume to look the part.  When I looked the part I could be the part.  I could leap tall Lincoln log buildings in a single bound, I could smash through Lego walls with a single punch, and I could fly as far as gravity would allow me when I leaped off of beds, couches, dressers, rocks, and retaining walls.  I always captured and subdued the evil villains /  neighborhood dogs every time.

I just remember, that there was always something empowering when I put my costume on.  It changed me and who I was and what I believed.

There is a verse that all this reminds me of in the book of Romans.  It talks about clothing yourself with Christ.  The coolest thing of all is that when you clothe yourself with Christ, it doesn't have to be for pretend.  Clothing myself with Christ literally has transformed me into becoming what God desires me to be.  Clothing yourself with Christ means you empty yourself of you, you literally take off you.  Then you allow Christ to define and direct your very being.  In that you become what He desires you to be.

May I challenge you to clothe yourself with Christ?

Romans 13:14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.

"I Deserve" Syndrom

The I deserve syndrome:

Do you have it? Probably most everyone does.  “I deserve a raise”, “I deserve a vacation”, “I deserve respect”, “I deserve a break”, “I deserve a promotion”, “I deserve a better grade”… Honestly if we all got what we really deserved we would be a pretty sorrowful people.

I do have to admit, there are times you may deserve something.  Maybe you’re the guy who works harder than the rest and your performance matches perfection.   If you are that guy you probably deserve the raise and promotion.  Maybe you’re the vacation bible school volunteer who has spent all your energy on other people’s kids all week.  If you are that guy you probably deserve a break.

It is pretty easy to get caught up in the “I deserve” mind set, mostly because we think more of ourselves than we ought to.  Christians, I need you to soak in what I am about to share.   For one, if you are truly in Christ then you already know what you deserve, and so do I.  When we get caught up in the “I deserve” mindset, we quickly lose focus of the “I desire” mindset.  “I deserve” focus is self-righteous and prideful.  The “I desire” focus is servant-righteous and humble.  “I deserve” is all about me, “I desire” is all about Christ.  “I deserve” will always stand in the way of the “I desire” life.

Do you desire God’s will for your life?   If so, do not allow “I deserve” to cloud your “I desire.”  The Book of Romans address’s this very issue in chapter 12.   It teaches that we are not to think more highly of ourselves than we ought to and to use sober judgment.

Romans: 12:3 For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.

hope so or know so hope?

Hope is what anchors my faith in Christ Jesus as LORD.  If I had no hope then what would I have to remain faithful to?

We need hope, but not just any kind. I believe there are two types of hope; "hope so hope" and "know so hope."  If my faith is focused on a "hope so hope" then chances are it will end in a "No so hope."

Are you confused yet?   Let me explain.  "Hope so hope" is a hope that is focused on your desires and passions.  For example I may say things like this "I hope to make a lot of money", "I hope to never fail", "I hope this relationship works out this time",  "I hope I never get hurt again", or maybe "I hope I win the lottery."

All of these hopes are really no hope at all, the are wishes and desires.  These are the things we think we want and think we need.  Usually the things we hope for out of selfish desire and ambition end up as a "no so hope".  They just don't happen and if they do they don't produce what we hoped for to begin with.

"Know so hope" is the only hope that is certain.  "Know so hope" is found in the promises of God.  These are the hopes that will happen and will not fail.  Eternal life through Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the ultimate "know so hope" for those who have accepted Him as Lord.

Can I challenge you to search God's word and discover the countless "know so hopes"?  In God's word you will find the hopes you really truly hope for.  Hopes like peace, joy, gladness, love, purpose, direction, assurance, strength, and so much more.

Just say no to the "hope so hopes" before they say no to you.

Romans 8:24 For in this hope we were saved.

Doom, Gloom, and Hope

It's so easy to see the doom and gloom in hardships.  When life gets rough and the storms seem to keep rolling in with no foreseeable relief, hope may seem all but lost.

As I look back in the storms I have faced I remember countless times thinking Hope is lost.  Now I am at this point in life where I can look back.  Hindsight is always 20/20.  I can now see how God used the storms to direct my path, build my strengths and even developed my dependence on Him to bring me where I am today.  Today I can proclaim how blessed I was, am and will continue to be, because of the storms.

The book of Acts speaks of Paul's storms in life.  It talks about the persecutions, beatings, imprisonments, hurricanes, ship wreck, and poisonous snake bite.  The book of acts concludes with a surprising ending.

Acts 28:30-31 For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him.31 Boldly and without hindrance he preached the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ.

Keep the faith, the storms will end.

HOPE

I don't care if you are a christian, Muslim, charismatic, politician, Jew, parent, teenager, successful business man, college student, hamburger flipper, or even the president of the USA.  Everyone is looking for a better tomorrow.  A tomorrow that offers hope, peace, pleasure, purpose, satisfaction, joy, gladness, and even prosperity.  I honestly don't know anyone who is hoping for a worser tomorrow.

What I do find sad, is there is an answer to a better future.  The answer was established at the beginning of time.  There is a book that describes this opportunity and way in such great detail it will blow your mind away.  Many have disputes it's truths, governments have tried to abolish it, and unfold multitudes have completely rejected it.  In spite of all the adversity, the Holy Bible, God's inspired and written word remains the top seller for the last several hundreds of years.

It's funny the answers to a better tomorrow, exactly what ever one is looking for, is found in Gods word.  Yet so many reject it, neglect it, and fewer and fewer continue to protect it.

The apostle Paul was imprisoned and threatened to be put to death for proclaiming exactly what everyone was hoping for.  I as well have even been threatened and rejected for proclaiming what people are looking for.  Crazy huh?

Adversity is a given.  Hope is a choice that can only be found when your humility to answer Gods call is greater than your pride to reject Him.

Acts 26:6 And now it is because of my hope in what God has promised our fathers that I am on trial today.

The Insanity of God

I have been reading the book "the Insanity of God" as recommended by my pastor Stephen Martin.  It's hard for me to read for long periods of time.  I get distracted easily and lose focus often.

But I must say wow!  I read half the book yesterday and just couldn't put it down.  Quite frankly I realized what a coward I am in proclaiming my faith compared to the men and women I have been reading about.

As American Christians we are perfectly comfortable and even bold, but only when the circumstances are safe and permissible.  I have come to realize that a good measure of faith is what it takes to silence you in proclaiming truth.

The men an women I have read about so far considered hate and violent persecution just as common as the rising of the sun.

the Insanity of God is a must read.  The author is Nik Ripken

Word of God

When Christians allow science to affirm the word of God, the word of God becomes fallible.  It is fact that science in itself has proven to be faliable.  What was once thought true simply became a fallacy as science evolved and disproved it's earlier theories.

You can read scientific articles, medical researches,  earth science, astrology science, geological and even philosophical science articles.  Repeatedly you can find a common theme related to the phrase; "what was once believed... has now been proven, shown or discovered..."

The word of God is infallibly and irrefutably the soundest words ever written.  As science has repeatedly discovered it's own faults, it has increasingly affirmed the words of God.

We must not allow science to qualify the very words of God.  In doing so we are attempting to establish absolute truth with the fallible thoughts an wisdom of man.

When God said He created everything in a literal six days He meant it! His written word declares it and He defined it by clearly stating after each day; "there was evening and there was morning."  At the very onset God established the twenty four hour day "Yom" by light and darkness, day and night, evening and morning.

Martin Luther said "for of this we must be certain: no clearer speech has been heard on earth than what God has spoken."  We are arrogant if we believe we can tell God what His words really mean.

2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,17 so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

LIMU

It's hard to believe 3 months ago we were at one of the toughest points in life physically, emotionally, and financially.  Carri's health had been on a continual decline with Huntington's disease, Kenzie was at rock bottom with her health living on a couch, separated from friends, and dependent on a countless prescription meds.  Medical bills piled up, unplanned vehicle repairs, hours cut at work, living off a credit line, skipping meals to make ends meet.  Me being the primary income for our home and even trying to help our college kids make ends meet wasn't sure how much longer I could keep working.  My back and pelvis were absolutely killing me with pain that seemed to increase week by week.  Foreseeably everything was falling apart and about to come crashing down.  But I knew better, our God is faithful.  Even if that meant living in a tent.

Spiritually I was in a good place, totally dependent on God.  I knew He would meet our needs and sustain us in the ministry He had called us to.  So many nights I would lay in prayer asking God to show me the door that He wanted to open that would lead us to where He needed us to be.  I had even shed several tears praying and begging for God's mercy.  I always said my faith and the ministry He had called me to was a non negotiable with this world.  I'd go hungry and homeless just to stay serving as a youth minister.

Our dear friends Tim and Lucinda  shaver introduced us to LIMU.  At first I was completely turned off believing LIMU was just another snake oil pyramid gimmick.  To think I almost turned my back on the very answer to our prayers.  After a season of sincere prayer God kept saying; "this is the door."  Honestly at the time LIMU made no sense.  Either way we obeyed and said yes.

Three months later, I have gotten my wife, Carri , back.  What Huntington's had taken away over the past several years, has now become a memory.  Not only that she feels so good she has been running in upwards of 4 miles at a time, lost weight, feels good, and looks great. Understand LIMU is not a drug and it has not cured Huntington's disease.  But is has brought back quality of life we knew should never see again.  Kenzie has gotten her life back and is now re-enrolled into the premed program at UCA.  I have been pain free for over two months now, feeling better and younger every day.  Our daughter Kaelyn has benefited greatly as well.

LIMU is the answer to our prayers concerning our health, our financial pitfall, and increasing ministry opportunities.

I sit back in awe and Praise the LORD for where He has taken us in just a few short months with our health alone.  LIMU is not our primary income right now, but it has been just enough to make ends meet and have a little extra.  Our LIMU business is growing as we help others regain their health, supplement their wealth, all while keeping Jesus Christ as most high.  I am excited as I foresee where God is taking us to greater ministry opportunities.  I look forward to serving and ministering to our communities youth and their families in even greater ways in the weeks and months to come. I also look forward to more missions work as well.

God Bless!

Ignorant faith

Being a christian is not about agreeing with the character of Christ and finding comfort in the icons of christianity.  It is about believing in the person Jesus Christ and turning to him by accepting His Lordship over your life.

Often we find cultural Christians who's faith is bound by walls and materialism. They bound God within the walls of the church and even worship man made idols like statues and cross necklaces.

When you place limits and boundaries upon the God you worship, you have a God that is beneath you.  A God beneath you is no God at all, but simply and idol offering empty promises and zero hope.

The living God calls this type of faith ignorance.  True faith begins with repentance.  Repentance that acknowledges the omniscient, omnipresent, and omnipotent God.  Jesus Chris is all knowing, always present, and all powerful.  He can not and will not be bound by walls or any other materialistic form.

His life, death, and resurrection command our complete surrender.  Surrendering our life of sin and seeking His life of salvation.

Acts 17:29-30  "Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone--an image made by man's design and skill.30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.

surely?

Betray: (verb) To be disloyal.

During the last supper, the Lord's supper, Jesus confronted Judas.  Jesus stated that he would be betrayed by one of his disciples.  Judas immediately denied it would be him, but Jesus firmly stated that in fact Judas would be the one.

in scripture we learn that Judas betrayed Christ for a mere thirty silver coins.  A price equal to purchase a slave.  Now I have researched the value in today's terms.  The consensus ranges from a few hundred dollars to a couple thousand dollars.

I have to ask, for how much less do we betray (become disloyal) to Christ today?  What little things in life keep us from serving, praising, and gathering together in worship?  The little things that we find more value in than our commitment to Jesus.  Sleeping in, going to the deer woods, fishing, camping, hiking, tv, hanging out with friends, just simply don't feel like it....

Matthew 26:25 then Judas, the one who would betray him, said, "surely not I, Rabbi?" Jesus answered, "yes, it is you."

Have you ever used the "surely" excuse for not being faithful?  Surely God will forgive me, surely I'm not as bad as others, surely God doesn't care if I miss, surely God won't hold it against me, surely God wants me to enjoy life more, surely this and that, surely blah blah blah.

If you are a surely kind of Christian, then you are surely betraying, being disloyal to your Lord and Savior.

Heaven is for real, the bible describes it

I have to admit it is pretty exciting to see godly movies being produced and coming out in mainstream theaters.  Christians are excited about it, and even non Christians are finding an affinity for these movies.  However, I want to step out and share some thoughts that may not be popular.

I want to start with this question; "Would satan himself disguise his deceptions in the form of godly appearing movies?"  I believe absolutely, what better way to deceive the heart and mind of man than to water down the truth of Gods word, or twist it in in such a way it is not even remotely biblical but appears so.

I am here to tell you the devil himself doesn't care if we are corrupt, hooked on drugs, abusing other people, swallowed up in drunkenness, going from one marital affair to another, lying, cheating, stealing, killing or forming our own mafia.  The only thing that matters to satan is that we never connect to Jesus Christ in a real meaningful relationship accepting Him as Lord an savior of your life.  The would much rather you be satisfied by feeling good than questioning your own salvation.

I would bet the devil himself is teaching Sunday school classes and preaching from the pulpit all over this world.  Why wouldn't he?

Here is my point friends, there are a lot of supposed christian themed movies being produced and that is exciting.  However many do not conform the the holy bible, Gods inspired word.  Heed caution and ask yourself before you get sucked in; "is this movie in line with what the bible teaches?"  I have recently read several articles and even watched and interview last night with the father and son that wrote the book "Heaven is for Real."  I have to question the authenticity, as it doesn't line up with the word of God.  Noah the movie, I learned was produced by an atheist.

May I encourage you to recognize deception and false teachings are for  real.  I also want to encourage you to always validate what you have seen, heard and read with the Holy word of God.

Matthew chapter 24 warns us of false teachings and prophets during the end times.

Acts 17:11 Now the Bereans were of more noble character than the Thessalonians, for they received the message with great eagerness and examined the Scriptures every day to see if what Paul said was true.

Unashamed

It's funny how people are so comfortable with trying to convince others to listen to certain music, try different foods, watch a particular movie.  Just listen you will hear it everywhere, Walmart, restaurants, work, parking lots, sporting events... "You have got to listen" "you have to try this""you really need to go see this movie" "you will love this or that."  Never hesitation in convincing others to try and like the the things we like.  Things that really don't matter.

When someone is deathly I'll, we even share our advice in what doctor  to go see, which hospital is best, and even the medicines we know will help.

Sadly when it comes to the one thing that matters above anything else in this life we remain silent.  Nothing in this world will matter when you take your last breath.  No medicine, no doctor, no cure, no food, no music, no movie, no nothing in this world will matter when you last breath is taken except one thing.  The only thing that matters is the truth of God.

When we promote, encourage and even attempt to convince others to try the things we like yet chose silence when it comes to Christ, we chose to be ashamed of the gospel of the death and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  In doing so we place Christ beneath everything else in this world.

I am unashamed and I will proclaim the one and only thing that matters in this life, forgiveness and salvation only comes through Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:16 I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile.

God is not dead or defeated

We are living in a day where Christians are feeling defeated and discouraged because they believe God has been kicked out of public schools, denied religious freedoms, silencing of speech, and even evicted from the White House.  Wake up Christians and get over your woes, God is not dead and He can never be defeated.

The defeat we think we see is nothing more than the weakness of our own faith.  Christians have been silenced because of the threats from the liberal left demanding our silence and the passing of discriminating laws and censoring our freedoms.

Peter and John faced the same persecution that we face this very day.  The religious leaders of their day demanded their silence.  Here is Peter and John's response; "Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God's sight to obey you rather than God. For we can not help speaking about what we have seen and heard." (Acts 4:19).

After being flogged and imprisoned for speaking truth, they were freed by the Holy Spirit and immediately went back to proclaiming Jesus name and His resurrection.  Again they were confronted by the leaders to shut their mouths.  Here is their reply; "we must obey God rather than men!" (Acts 5:29)

Now I am by no means suggesting Christians break laws to evangelize in Jesus name.  Laws do not mean you must silence your entire life.  There is always a right place and time for speaking truth, and more importantly there is never a wrong place to live out your faith.

One of the religious leaders by the name of Gamaliel had a tad bit more wisdom that the rest.  I love what he shared with the other religious leaders of his time.  "For if their activity is of human origin, it will fail.  But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God." (Acts 5:38-39)

Wake up Christians and wake up liberal left!  GOD IS NOT DEAD!  and HE CAN NOT BE DEFEATED!  The battle was already won on mount Calvary by means of an ugly bloody cross and an empty grave abandoned by the risen savior and Jesus Christ is His name.

How many members does your church have

What if your church gains a higher population, but saves not one soul?  It would have been better to reach one lost soul than entertain an entire population just to say we have grown.  Frequently I am asked "How many kids do you have in youth?"  Why do people measure ministry success with numbers in attendance?  Numbers mean nothing if the church is not reaching lost souls and brining them to salvation in Jesus Christ alone.

During my quiet time today I was reading the book of acts.  In the book of Acts we find the birth of the church.  The birth of the church only occurred after the Holy Spirit baptized Christ's disciples giving them power to preach and proclaim the word.  It was not through ingenuity and creative ministry and entertainment that the church was born.  It was through the power of word alone spoken by the disciples empowered by the Holy Spirit that the church was born.  People were wow'd, perplexed, and amazed not because they were entertained, but awe struck by the power of God's word.  Some rejected the word and proclaimed the disciples were drunk, yet others, 3,000 in fact accepted the truth and were added to those being saved.

It's one thing to lead someone to Christ for salvation, but it's another thing for them to be added to the growth of the church.  The key to the spiritual growth of the church is fellowship centered around ministry, worship and discipleship.  The early believers were faithful to fellowship daily by coming together and breaking bread, they ate together.  They also ministered to one another by sacrificing what they had in order to meet each other's needs.  During their time of fellowship, hanging out together, they were taught the word of God through discipleship and they worshiped together by praising God.  Through it all the church continued to grow daily those who were being saved.

How many people attend your church?  How many of those fellowship daily like the church when it was first born?  How many are being added because they are being saved?

Acts 2:42-47 They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.44 All the believers were together and had everything in common.45 Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

The picture is from a revival service in Nicaragua during a mission trip I was apart of.  Numbers of those being saved were definitely added that day

Do you believe?

Time and time again, I have seen people experience God in mountain top ways only to quickly fall back down into the valleys of doubt and despair.  I have witnessed people go to revival services, mission trips, church camps and all kinds of events or circumstances where God was manifested so tangibly He could not be denied.  That spiritual mountain top experience was undeniable.  Shortly after, the fall prevailed.

I have I ask why?  Could it be that doubt trumped belief?  It is a fact that Jesus Christ's manifests himself in ways that we can tangibly experience Him.  Ways this world cannot explain.  God allows this not to create doubt, but belief.  I often wonder, do people doubt their belief?  Do they begin to doubt that mountain top experience?  Did they ever really believe?  Did they really believe it was God or or was it merely just and emotional high?

Emotional experiences fade and grow faint over time.  Emotional experiences do not necessarily prompt a genuine belief in the cause of Christ.  Emotions can produce nothing more than a thrill, a temporary excitement producing nothing more than a great memory.

Belief is the gateway to life, a life eternal only found in Jesus Christ.  Belief lasts forever not producing a mere "once upon a time" mountain top experience.  Do you believe?

John 20:31 but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name.

You can be a part of answered prayers

Have you ever stopped to realize that you have the opportunity to be a part of God's answer to prayer and even miracles? By surrendering my life to be the hands and feet of Jesus, I have had the amazing opportunity of being a part of God's answer to countless prayers.

In this picture, God chose me! to be a part of this mothers answer to prayer for her dying baby in the jungles of Nicaragua.

John 14:12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.

Jesus wants more than my feet

Jesus wants all of me not just part of me.  He doesn't want to just polish up certain parts of my life He wants to polish all of my life.  My Lord and Savior loves me so much that He cares about every aspect of my being.  He cares about my speech, my thoughts, my emotions, my attitude, my hurts, my weaknesses, my strengths.  Christ is genuinely concerned about the things I do, the places I go, who I help, who I care for, what I do with my time, do I take care of myself, do I care about others, picking me up when I fall, my sickness, am I in fellowship with other believers.  It matters to Him if I am modest, am I pure, am I faithful, am I growing,  He really does care about everything.

As I was reading the story of when Jesus washed His disciples feet his conversation with Peter spoke to me.  Peter didn't want Jesus to wash his feet.  I don't know if it was pride or humility that made Peter feel that way.  Could it have been pride because he didn't want to be embarrassed?  Was it humility because Peter knew Christ was greater than himself and he didn't deserve to have Jesus wash his feet.  I honestly do not know the answer.   Either way it really doesn't matter because Peter did not want Jesus to wash his feet.

When it comes to my relationship with Christ it doesn't matter if pride or humility gets in the way.  Either way I still hinder the fullness of what Christ wants to do in me and for me.

Jesus responded to Peter by saying this; "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."  Wow!  Just simply a humbling wow.  My reasons don't matter, whatever they are if they hinder what Christ desires for my life there is a part of me that will have nothing to do with the one who died for me.

I am pretty sure Peter was wow'd as well.  Immediately Peter wanted Jesus to wash all of him, no bars hold and no excuses.  I want to be like Peter, I want Jesus to wash all of me.

John 13:8-9  "No," said Peter, "you shall never wash my feet." Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no part with me."9 "Then, Lord," Simon Peter replied, "not just my feet but my hands and my head as well!"

What are you wearing?

Have you ever heard the saying "it is written all over your face", or "you wear your emotions on your shoulders"? These sayings relate to how people appear because of what they are feeling or experiencing. More often than not people wear their emotions and feelings for others to see.

If you think about it, there is a great deal of truth behind these sayings.  Just watch people and you will see for yourself.  When something bad is going on you can see it.  Body language and affect appear distraught, depressed, or even hopeless.  When something exciting is happening, you can't help but notice.  Big smiles, joyful affects, and attitudes that are contagious.  Parents can relate best to what I am saying.  When your kids have done wrong, you can see it by how they appear and behave.  When your kids have done well, you can see it before they ever speak a word.

In the book of John we can read about Lazarus.  Lazarus was stinky dead laying in a tomb for four days.  Spiritually we are dead in sin and life stinks because of it.  Jesus did not see Lazarus for what he already was, he saw Lazarus for what he should be.  Because of that Jesus called Lazarus from the tomb of death and raised him back to life.  But check out what the last thing Jesus said concerning Lazarus.  "...Take off the grave clothes and let him go." (John 11:44). I love it, Lazarus was no longer dead and therefore his appearance would no longer portray death as well.

When I came I Christ and accepted him as my LORD and savior, Jesus said to me "take off your grave clothes, you are no longer dead to sin."  Right after that he said; "clothe yourself in me, for now you live and for now on you will look like it."  My affect, my attitude, and my life are no longer clothed to appear dead, but very much alive.

Can I encourage you to change your spiritual clothes?

Galatians 3:27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ.

Rock and a hard place

Between a rock and a hard place with no apparent way out.  Has this ever been you?  It has been me more than once.  So many times before it seemed like any decision was a lose lose.  Often I had to make the lesser lose decision, but none the less it's was a loss.  Usually those lose lose and lesser loss decisions were made without consulting anyone or seeking wise advice.

As I have grown in my faith I have learned God allows those "between a rock and a hard place" situations.  He allows it either intentionally or as a result of my own choices.  Either way, when I am in that place He always asks; "what are we going to do?"  God has never expected me to answer that question.  Gods intention is for me to ask Him that same question.

Nothing surprises God and there is no such thing as a rock an a hard place for God.  He can move mountains right?  I have learned this is Gods way of getting me to listen.  He already knows what needs to be done.  Consider the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand in John chapter 6.

John 6:5-6 When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?"6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.

Can I challenge you to just ask Jesus? He already has the answer.

Disbelieving professed believer?

Are you a disbelieving professed believer?  Do you profess to be a believer in Jesus Christ but your actions exhibit disbelief?

I have been a youth minister for nearly 5 years now and a christian for over 20 years.  The other day I asked our youth; "what did I preach on Wednesday night?"  Out of the group only a small portion raised their hands.  The ones who did not remember were all professed Christians.  Is this true for the church as a whole?

I got to thinking about the church as a whole myself included.  How many times have I forgotten what that really awesome message was about?  How man times was I challenged to take my faith to the next level only to keep my life status quo.  Am I known for applying and acting upon Gods word?  Is the church as a whole becoming more and more like Christ?  Or are we maintaining status quo?

Jesus speaks I this very problem in the book of John.  He says to the religious leaders; "you diligently study scriptures because you think that by them you have eternal life." (John 6:39).  Do we think we have eternal life because we own a bible and go to church?  If so we are just as wrong as the religious leaders of Jesus's time.

Jesus concludes by saying; "if you believed mosses you would believe me, for he wrote about me.  47 but since you do not believe what he wrote, how are you going to believe what I say?"  (John 5:46-47).  I don't know about your church, but my pastor is the godliest man I know.  He faithfully brings the word of God every week and throughout each day.  He doesn't preach his version of the gospel, he professes and proclaims the whole word of God as inspired by the spirit of God.  If I truly believe my pastor yet never remember, apply, or even change then by my actions I am a disbeliever.  If I really believe I would react and respond I the word of God.

Praise the LORD I am a believing professed believer in Jesus Christ.  I'm not perfect but I am growing and evolving.  I'm not forgetting and I am reacting.

Are you a disbelieving professed believer?  I hope not.  Gods word is true and his promises never fail.

God is >

The size of your faith is measured by the size of the problem that defeats your faith.

God > any problem

God > any mistake

God > than everything

Matthew 17:20 He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. "

The only thing

The only thing that stands between your life now and the life God wants to give you is you.  It may be pride, shame, guilt, doubt, anger, disbelief, or whatever other reasons and excuses you can come up with.  No matter the excuse or reason, it all comes down to you.

It is our excuses and reasons that keep us from repentance, the turning away from the sinful life we lead now and turning to a life in Christ.  We allow our excuses to hold us in bondage, enslave, and captured to the life we really don't want to live.

Repent and God will forgive and you will be given life.

Luke 24:46-47 He told them, "This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,47 and repentance and forgiveness of sins will be preached in his name to all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Excuses excuses, I can't

I don't have enough courage, I don't have enough wisdom, I don't know enough theology, I don't have enough time, I won't ever be able to do that, I don't have enough to make a difference, I don't ever think I could, I don't, I don't, I don't.... So many people have so much more and have a lot more they can do and give, way beyond what I ever could.

Is this the voice inside your head when it come to serving and giving to and for the LORD?

It once was mine.  Fortunately I had a Mosses and the burning bush experience with The Lord the week of July 4th, 2009.  Thankfully I received the same answer as Mosses.  I kept saying I am not able and God said "I AM."

Several months later I realized that God considered a poor widow rich not because of how much she gave, but simply because she gave her all. I realized I did not matter how much knowledge, courage, wisdom, strength or even money I had.  All God wanted was for me to give my all so He could make it rich.

Nearly 5 years later, God took my shy, bashful, hermit crab, I can't mentality and has made my life rich.  I am blessed to be a youth minister, having God the father of my savior Jesus Christ use what little I have to reveal the richness of His mercy, glory, and grace.

May I encourage you to give Him all you have so your life can be rich too?

Luke 21:3-4 "I tell you the truth," He said, "This widow has put in more than all the others.  4 All these people gave their gifts out of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on."

Oceans where feet may fail - Hillsong United

No excuses

Are you that christian?  The one that participates in christian religion only when it is culturally important like Christmas and Easter.  Or maybe you participate more frequently but only when there is nothing else going on.  Do you have or make excuses as to why it's really not that necessary to be in church routinely, reading your bible regularly, serve without reservation or pray consistently?

Well I hate to break it to you, if your that christian who always has an excuse as to why you can't be, won't be, not able to... Well you are just hurting yourself.  God doesn't accept excuses, If you are willing He will be faithful. If you can't, He will make it so you can.  If you won't, He will change your heart so you will.  if your not able, He will make you able.  All you have to do is quit making excuses.

Excuses will only mount up to building a wall and  creating a barrier that ultimately secludes and excludes you from the presence of the LORD.  Consider the parable of the great banquet.

Luke 14:18,24 But they all alike began to make excuses... 24 I tell you not one of those men who were invited will get a taste of my banquet.

Can I encourage you to quit making excuses?

Be bold and ask

Just because you are a christian doesn't mean you no longer have to ask for things.  For some reason Christians believe that once they give their lives to The Lord He does the rest in making their lives more peaceful and joyful and they don't have to do anything else.  This is wrong.

Jesus assures us He will meet our needs, not because it's expected but rather we ask.  In Luke chapter 11 Jesus teaches on prayer.  He explains in a parable about two friends and meeting the others needs.   The friend goes to the house at an inconvenient time at night asking for bread.  The friend does not give the other bread because it is expected,  the expectation is the friend should wait to ask until a more convenient time.  Jesus explains the needs are met because of the mans boldness to ask at the most inopportune time.

We are told to ask out of boldness even in the midst if the most inopportune times.  In turn Jesus assures us we will be given what is needed.  Do not confuse your wants with your needs.  He promises to meet needs not wants.  If I am struggling financially and I want to get rich, that may not happen.  Jesus may provide a love offering to make ends meet, he may put it upon someone's heart to give me food, or maybe have someone pay a bill unexpectedly for me.

Be bold and ask Jesus to meet your needs, He will.

Luke 11:8-10 I tell you, though he will not get up and give him the bread because he is his friend, yet because of the man's boldness he will get up and give him as much as he needs.9 "So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.10 For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.

Why me God?

Why me?

Been there done that myself, on my knees and even crying out all alone "Why me God? Why me?"

Life is full of struggles and trials I get that.  When they come one at a time, I can handle that. But when they come by the droves I am overwhelmed.  So many times I felt like It took all I had just to tread water and no land was in site.  "Why me God!"  I just knew any moment I was going to drown.  Consumed by debt, illness, work instability, family issues...

However Jesus Christ has never failed to call my name, raising me up so I could walk on water.  It is those times I am the most grateful for His mercy and grace.   I would not go back and ever change those times.  The greatest victory celebrations always follow the hardest and harshest of battles.

Embrace your trials especially the harshest and hardest of all, there is a victory coming in Christ and the celebration will last an eternity.

Luke 7:41-43  "Two men owed money to a certain moneylender. One owed him five hundred denarii, and the other fifty.42 Neither of them had the money to pay him back, so he canceled the debts of both. Now which of them will love him more?"43 Simon replied, "I suppose the one who had the bigger debt canceled." "You have judged correctly," Jesus said.

LIMU Experience

Alrighty friends, I've been trying to tone down my excitement over  #LIMU , but I can't contain how amazing I feel since I have started drinking LIMU products. Today I woke up and had ZERO pain and ZERO muscle stiffness.  I literally have not felt like this since I was in my 20's.

The key ingredient in LIMU's product is "fucoidan". Go search for yourself at www.pubmed.gov you will quickly discover how independent unsolicited scientific research has proven its effectiveness within your body.

@limuthecompany has the market in providing the purest form of fucoidan throughout the world.  It works my friends and family, Carri  and I can both testify in good faith what science has proven.

I will close with this; we prayed and God answered our prayers for a better quality of life physically,  He has blessed us beyond what we asked for.  This may sound crazy but even our amazing "God blessed marriage" has been blessed with more quality because of how we both feel.

Thank you Jesus for hearing our prayer and leading us to LIMU and giving us an opportunity to go into business with a mission!  He has open the door to our hearts desire and that is more ministry.  It has only just begun.

It can cost you

It can cost you:

Have you ever stopped and realized that when you chose not to believe the LORD it can cost you?  It is true if you don't believe or don't listen it can cost you.

Zechariah did not believe the angel Gabriel when he told him that he and Elizabeth were going to have a baby in their old age.  That baby would be John the Baptist.  Since Zechariah did not believe it cost him his voice.

There have been times in my life when things did not make sense so I chose not to believe or obey The Lord.  Because of my choice it cost me.  It has cost me opportunities of joy, chances to minister to hurting people, and missed blessings.  I have paid the cost of missing out on being a part of what God was doing. I've robbed myself of joy, peace, gladness, goodness, and so many other blessings simply because I didn't believe or obey at the time.

The cost is simple, when we choose not to believe or not obey, you loose out in Gods blessings and what he wants to offer you.

Don't let doubt cost you.  Trust in The Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding - proverbs 3:5

Luke 1:19-20 The angel answered, "I am Gabriel. I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news.20 And now you will be silent and not able to speak until the day this happens, because you did not believe my words, which will come true at their proper time."

Wake up!

When you wake up do you really wake up?  Moan, groan, toss, turn, roll out of bed, stumble around (with eyes closed), grumble, fumble, the finally speak these words "I'm so tired, I'm dead."  Then you lay around and accomplish nothing because you never really woke up.  Then repeat the next day and the next and the next...

One day you something gets your attention and you realize;  dirty dishes are piled as high as mt everest, dirty clothes have evolved into freaky life forms (jk evolution is not real), your 2 year old has set the new world record for diaper maximum capacity, your fridge has grown into a national mold Forrest, and your backside matches the pattern on your couch.

Then you realize you have slept too long and your world is coming to and end.  Yes I know sounds ridiculous.  But guess what?  This is what is happening to Christians and it is time to wake up!  Jesus Christ is being betrayed by individuals, families, liberal groups, political agendas, and nations.  It is not a joke.  Let's wake up and rise, rise to the call of the great commission before it is too late.

Matthew 26:45-46 Jesus said; "are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the son of man is betrayed into the hands of sinners.  46 Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer.

Nothing in this world has the power...

Nothing in this world has the power to bring and end to the word of God.  No war, no natural disasters, no government corruption, no civil division, no social strife, no marital misconduct, no personal struggles, no failure, no fault, no pain, no sorrow, no amount of anger, and no amount of disbelief.  Nothing in this world will ever nullify, unjustify, or even abolish the power of God's word.  Embrace the fullness of Gods word, instruction, promises and prophesies and then your faith will never be taken, shaken, or forsaken.

Matthew 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.  - Jesus Christ, son of the living God.

Unintentional Christian Hypocrite

The unintentional christian hypocrite:

Yes that's right, self proclaimed Christians can be unintentional hypocrites.  You hear the good news of the gospel, you hear about the favorable attributes of Christianity, you are convicted to live a good life defined by christian morals and values so you join the bandwagon.  The bandwagon of cultural unintentional hypocritical Christianity.

How does this happen?  It's simple, you responded an reacted to emotion in the midst of excitement. In that emotional high you missed the deeper meaning and purpose and therefor embraced the cultural Christianity bandwagon as a way of life.  Your spirt and soul were not in it, but your heart felt emotions and mind were.

So you joined the team and began to go through the motions of acting and behaving like a christian.  You read a bible, said some public prayers, attended church, stopped cussing, stopped drinking, and whatever else Christians do.  Your fatal mistake was that you never gave your heart, spirit and soul to Jesus Christ as your true LORD and savior to begin with.  You only made Him your standards and values to live by.

When Jesus Christ is nothing more than your standards and values to live by then you have become an unintentional christian hypocrite.  What am I saying?  Well it's simple, everything about you on the outside looks like and acts like a Christian because you want to be that way.  Your motivation is based on emotions, new values and better morals because you like and agree with Christianity.  So on the outside you look the part, but on the inside nothing has changed.  Over time you get tired, worn and stressed leading you to failure.  Your strength is gone because your emotions no longer sustain you then you succumb to what is really inside of you.   So all the while you were only acting and pretending to be what you really were not on the inside.

Christianity begins with the total surrender of your life, heart, mind, spirit and soul to Jesus Christ as lord and savior.  It must begin on the inside and then manifest itself to the outside.  You must allow you sinful self to be crucified on the inside and then brought back to life in Christ. Christianity is the core of what you are spiritually, making you what you ought to be.  It all happens from the inside out and not the outside in.

Matthew 23:27-28  "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men's bones and everything unclean.28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.

May I encourage you to accept Jesus and allow Him to change you from the inside out?
